From first walkthrough to first cocktail under the louvers.

A clear, four-step process. You have one point of contact throughout — from the first site visit to the final walkthrough on commissioning day.

Step 01

Walkthrough

An on-site visit in Marin or wherever your project lives. We listen, measure, photograph, and discuss site, sun, drainage, and how you actually want to use the space.

Step 02

Design

3D renderings, finish samples, and integration spec — fans, heaters, lighting, privacy walls, smart home. You see it before we build it.

Step 03

Permit & Build

We handle permitting and engineering with your jurisdiction, then your system is fabricated to spec at StruXure's USA factory.

Step 04

Installation

Our vetted installation team gets to work on site. We're on the job to coordinate every detail — power, controls, and integrations — and walk you through every feature on commissioning day.

Common questions, answered.

Everything you'd want to know before requesting a consultation. Have something specific? Call us at 650.204.0712.

How much does a motorized pergola cost in Marin County?
Every StruXure system is made-to-order — size, configuration, finishes, and integrations all vary project to project. The best way to get an accurate picture is a quick conversation and an on-site walkthrough. We'll scope the project together and provide a detailed proposal from there. Request a free consultation →
Do you handle permits and electrical work?
Yes. We coordinate permitting with Marin County and city jurisdictions, and partner with licensed C-10 electricians and C-27 landscape contractors to handle integrated lighting, heaters, fans, and smart home connections.
Where do you install pergolas?
Anywhere in the greater Bay Area. We're based in Marin and do a lot of work across the North Bay, but we regularly install throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula (Atherton, Hillsborough, Woodside, Portola Valley, Palo Alto, Los Altos Hills), the East Bay, and up into Sonoma and Napa. If the project is the right fit, we'll travel for it.
How long does installation take?
Most installations are completed in one to two weeks on site, depending on the size and complexity of the project. We'll give you a clear timeline as part of your project proposal.
Are StruXure pergolas built for Bay Area weather?
Yes. StruXure systems are fully extruded aluminum with an integrated 360° gutter system, ICC-certified, and engineered to meet stringent earthquake and wind codes. Every system carries a 15-year structural warranty and a 5-year electronics warranty — both transferable if you sell your home.
Can the pergola integrate with my smart home?
Absolutely. Systems run on SOMFY motors and ship Wi-Fi-ready with smartphone app control. We routinely integrate with major smart home platforms via BOND bridge and can tie in lighting, heaters, fans, and louver position into your existing setup.
How does the pergola handle Bay Area rain?
StruXure louvers interlock when closed, forming continuous rain channels that direct water into an integrated 360° gutter system built into the frame — so there's no exposed seam or trough to overflow. An optional rain sensor can automatically close the louvers the moment precipitation starts. The fully extruded aluminum construction means no swelling, warping, or paint failure over time.
Can it be attached to my house, or does it need to be freestanding?
Both. StruXure systems can be designed as attached pergolas — fixed to your home's fascia or wall — or as fully freestanding structures with four posts. Attached is more common for poolside and patio applications where you want a seamless indoor-outdoor transition; freestanding works well for larger spans, detached structures, or where the attachment point isn't structurally ideal. We'll assess the best configuration during your on-site walkthrough.
What StruXure products do you carry?
We carry the full StruXure residential and commercial line, including the Pergola X (available in Pivot 6, Pivot 6 XL, Pivot 6 Slide, Pivot 6 Max, and Pan 6 configurations) and the Cabana X — a versatile 10×10 freestanding unit that works beautifully as a poolside cabana, outdoor office, or standalone lounge. Every model is made-to-order in the USA.
What does the warranty cover?
StruXure backs every system with a 15-year structural warranty covering posts, gutters, louvers, and beams, plus a 5-year warranty on electronics (motor, power supply, receiver, and controls). Both warranties are transferable if you sell your property — a meaningful asset when it comes time to list.
How much maintenance does a StruXure pergola require?
Very little. We recommend cleaning the louvers and rinsing the integrated gutter channels once or twice a year — a garden hose handles most of it. The powder-coated aluminum finish is scratch-resistant and won't rust, rot, or require repainting. There are no seasonal teardowns or covers needed.
Do you help with HOA approvals?
Yes. StruXure's ICC certification and full engineering documentation makes the HOA approval process significantly smoother than with uncertified systems. We can provide stamped drawings, load calculations, and material specifications in whatever format your HOA requires.
